Hands-on images of the Pixel 4 have been leaked remember a few days ago On leaks shared this render of the Pixel 4, well Google themselves confirmed the leak. Yes, they tweeted out this saying since there seems to be some interest. Wait until you see what it can do.
It’s a rare move by any tech company, To embrace the leaks and to drop an upcoming device’s name and an official image this early is very unusual. Pixel 4 will be unveiled in October so we’re 4 months away from the launch event and we already have an official image of the handset revealed by Google itself.
Not only that we also have hands-on images of the handset. Not really surprised that we are getting Pixel 4 leaks months before the launch event because this has happened in the past. These images confirm the renders and to be honest, it doesn’t look as bad as the iPhone 11’s camera but yeah, not a good looking either.
There’s some interesting information as well. 9to5Google one of the trustable leaker is saying that their sources were able to take a quick peek at the front of the handset as well. And they are saying there is a giant forehead which houses dual front cameras.
One good thing to note here is that there won’t be a ridiculous bathtub like notch on the Pixel 4. I don’t understand who designed this and how did Google even thought that this is good looking but glad they learned their lesson.
If they can’t go for a design like the Galaxy S10 or OnePlus 7 then at least keep a normal tradition full sized bezel at the top and thankfully that’s exactly what they are doing.
Now, some people are speculating that Google is revealing the image of the handset so early because it’s not actually the Pixel 4, they’re tricking us, they’ll reveal a different looking device at the launch, which I don’t believe.
Pixel 3 leak was horrible
Look, Google is horrible in keeping the leaks at bay, remember last year, the Pixel 3 was the most leaked handset of all time. Everything got leaked the spec, highlights, even the Titan security chip and price all got leaked. Heck, we had review videos of the handset months before the launch event. So it looks like Google doesn’t want to give these leakers any attention and I guess Google doesn’t even care in general.
iPhone and Pixel race
It’s also possible that since both the iPhone 11 and Pixel 4 share the same camera housing which was found on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, I guess Google wants people to believe that their design is not copied from Apple’s. The iPhone 11 will be unveiled in September and the Pixel 4 in October. So it would be easy to conclude that Google copied Apple’s design.
To avoid such criticism, Google could have decided to just post the picture of the Pixel 4. If photos of the Pixel 4’s camera was going to get leaked anyway, the company might as well jump on it, too. At least they can claim they didn’t copy Apple again and they had the design in mind long before the iPhone launch.
To be honest, I won’t be really surprised if the Pixel 4 actually ends up looking exactly. Because Google has literally followed the iPhone’s design ever since they introduced the Pixel lineup. I mean the Pixel 1 was similar to the iPhone 6S, they copied the notch on the Pixel 3 XL. Now, this looks like the iPhone 11. To be honest, I’m not surprised I’m just disappointed.
I see Pixel fans keep saying that design doesn’t matter, they buy the Pixel phones for the camera and software experience. Still, pixel phones are the best when it comes to night photography, portrait shots and it’s all with a single camera.
Anyway, let me know what do you think? Considering that the Pixel 4 will probably, Cost $1000, are you Okay with a phone that looks outdated but has a good camera and software? Do you agree with that? Let me know down in the comments below.
