Xiaomi announced the new Mi Box 4K streaming player 2 days ago along with Mi 10 and Mi True Wireless Earphones 2. The new online streaming device from the tech giant seems promising enough to get your hands on it. It has multiple features to make your life easier so let’s have a loot at it.
We’ve seen a lot of streaming devices in the past couple of years being Amazon Fire Stick, Google Chromecast, or the Apple TV 4K. All these products have gained a lot of attention from the users as people are switching from regular television to an Internet-based system to make their lives easier.

Unlike the other Xiaomi Android TV’s which are running on Patchwall, the new Mi Box 4K runs on Android which opens various features for the users. The device runs on Android 9.0. Patchwall content discovery service has been left out of here to make sure the users have exactly what they want in their devices.
Being Android-based not only gives you access to android applications, but also the games available in Google Play Store. You can enjoy yourself with your family at home amid the quarantine as the company has plans to deliver the product soon. Also, the device has built-in Chromecast so you can stream your smart to your device with just a single touch. The screencasting from smartphone or tablet supports up to 4K Ultra-HD in the Mi Box.
Along with all this, the remote of the streaming box comes with a prebuilt Google voice assistant button to search without typing anywhere and directly accessible to you. Two more featured Netflix and Amazon Prime buttons are included to make sure your favorite streaming sites are just a click away.

Xiaomi claims the new data saving feature of the Mi Box 4K will help you watch 3 times more video on the same amount of data. You can turn on/off the feature whenever you want accordingly. You can set data alerts through the feature if you are running on limited data size.
The device packs Cortex 64-bit quad-core processor along with Mali 450 750 MHz GPU. It has 2GB DDR3 RAM for fast and smooth browsing your favorite content through the device. You also get 8GB eMMC storage inside the box to store some movies or songs you like.
The design of the device is fairly simple. It’s a small box which can be placed on the table In front of your TV. On the top face, we can see the Mi logo, and on the backside, you get 4 ports including power, Audio out, HDMI 2.0, and USB 2.0.
Inside the device you get Bluetooth 4.2 to connect game controllers, headphones and other Bluetooth enabled devices. Wifi 2.4GHz/5GHz is enabled for faster transfer rate and video playback with buffering. High-speed HDMI support makes sure you get the best resolution video playback support on your TV.

It’s fairly easy to use the new device on your existing TV’s. The one requirement is your TV should have HDMI support and your good to go. Just connect the HDMI cable into your TV and connect your Mi Box 4K with Wifi. That’s it! Just start streaming your favorite shows.
Pricing and Availability
The device was launched with a price tag of 3,499 and was on sale today on Flipkart and mi.com. The next sale is supposed to be on 13th May. The company plans to bring it to Mi Home and other Mi Studio Stores. Currently, the device is available in black color which will stay the same as Xiaomi didn’t mention any details about any other variant of the device. Also, Xiaomi has partnered with Docubay, Hoichoi, Epic On, and Shemaroo to give discounts for the device owners.
Following the pattern, the device will be on sale next week too on both the sites. Please note Xiaomi is only planning to deliver in Green and Orange zones affected by COVID-19.
