OnePlus has finally unveiled the new OnePlus 8 series after a couple of leaks we witnessed in the past weeks. The device has a lot more to offer and than the previous OnePlus 7 series. OnePlus community of 5.5 million to be exact have yet again got a complete masterpiece from the Tech Giant.
Due to COVID-19 the launch was witnessed on the official site of OnePlus and they opened up with a video how they helped create a community that is now all over the world and have got together to witness the launch in such a time of crisis from everywhere.
This was the main highlight of the event that OnePlus has collaborated and worked hard with various carriers to provide the best and fastest connectivity among the users. They worked first on the OnePlus 7 to launch the first OnePlus 7 5G model with EE carrier in the UK.
Both the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro include high 5G connectivity for flawless speeds in your device so you don’t face any issues regarding talking to your friends, stream videos or browsing the web.
Display and Design
The upgrade from last year was the 6.78’’ QHD+ AMOLED display along with a 120Hz refresh rate that will help in smoother and faster animations in your OnePlus 8 Pro. The sensors were also added on both sides of the display for automatic brightness adjustment.
One plus also added the new pinhole front camera at the top left corner of the display which is just 3.5mm to make it less noticeable.
OnePlus also said the display was tested by DisplayMate and both the devices got an A+ in the rating with OnePlus 8 Pro having 13 records and OnePlus 8 having 10 records from the company. This is said to be the best rating there is for a device in the market.
OnePlus 8 comes with a 6.55” display with a 90Hz refresh rate and OnePlus tried to reduce the weight to 180 grams making it as light as possible. This was designed to be a compact flagship from OnePlus
OnePlus mentioned this is one of the major upgrades that they did on their devices. OnePlus 8 Pro comes with a quad-camera setup. A 48 MP Ultrawide with Sony IMX586 Sensor, a 48 MP main camera with Sony IMX689 sensor, a Color Filter camera and a 3X telephoto camera with 30X digital zoom gives a lot of opportunities for people who like to shoot from their devices.
The new color filtering was seen as having a vast effect on the image quality when compared to the iPhone 11 Pro to the OnePlus 8 Pro.
The OnePlus 8 features a triple camera layout featuring a 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens. Both devices come with Hybrid Video Stabilization that makes the videos less noisy but smoother.
Both the devices pack Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 giving you the latest technology to run the applications more smoothly with optimizations and stability. The devices will have up to 12 GB RAM and up to 256 GB of memory.
Both the devices have USB 3.1 and the latest WIFI 6 for fast transmission speeds. OnePlus is giving the IP68 rating for the OnePlus 8 Pro meaning it will be dust resistant and be dipped in up to 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.
OnePlus introduced the WARP Charge 30T for both devices that will juice up your device from 0 to 60% in just 30 minutes. Also the new WARP charge 30 Wireless is additionally available on the OnePlus 8 Pro that charges your device from 0 to 50% in just 30 minutes. Compared to Samsung S20 Ultra and iPhone 11 Pro Max, they were far too behind from the OnePlus 8 Pro.
Built-in hardware, both the devices feature Dolby Atmos stereo speakers for best quality sound output. The battery in OnePlus 8 Pro is 4510mAh while in the OnePlus 8 is 4300mAh.
Alongside the Hardware, the device will feature the latest OxygenOs which OnePlus claims have more stability than the earlier versions in the android based device. OnePlus also launched a Dark Theme and Dynamic Display which will change according to the weather around you.
Haptic Vibration 2.0
This feature will probably excite the gamers as it provides ingame vibrations of the particular games you play and their ingame feel which will give you more depth and immersive gaming experience.
Both the devices will come in three colors – Black, Blue and a third color named “Glacier green”. Although a new color goes by “Intersteller Green” has been launched for OnePlus 8.
As mentioned before, both the devices will come with the latest 5G connectivity to provide the fastest and smoothest communication experience to the users. OnePlus has partnered with various mobile carriers to provide the latest technology available to the users for flawless connectivity.
Coming to the prices, there is two variant of each of the devices. OnePlus 8 Pro has 8GB + 128GB priced at $899 while the 12GB + 256GB is priced at $999. OnePlus 8 has 8GB + 128GB priced at $699 while the 12GB + 256GB is priced at $799. The Open sale on the official site is supposed to start on April 21, 2020.
