At the time of pandemic when almost everyone is working from home, Xiaomi India grabs the opportunity to launch Mi branded laptop in the country. This is the first that the company is bringing a laptop to India.

Earlier this year while sketching its roadmap for 2020 Xiaomi said that it will launch several products in the Indian market and rightly so we have recently witnessed the launch of the Wireless Earbuds 2, Box 4K and many more IoT devices. The latest teaser by the company with the #WhatsNextFromMi suggests that Mi Notebook is coming to India very soon.

Twitter Controversy

On Wednesday, Xiaomi India MD Manu Jain took to Twitter to post a video in which he is seen working on a laptop and then closing it by saying “It’s Time”.

Post which the entire Xiaomi India also took to Twitter to post similar videos. In some of them, the presenter is seen struggling with his or her laptop and then says “It’s time”. The company, however, hasn’t provided any details on which laptop will be heading to the country first.

Also in the tweet by Mi India tagging Dell, Acer, HP, Asus, Lenovo wrote “hey there” shows bragging other brands and aggressive marketing.

Xiaomi stepping laptop market in India could be a game-changer.

Existing Mi Laptops in Market

Xiaomi already sells several Mi Notebooks models in China and given the company usually brings the same product to India we can expect the same Mi Notebook models to arrive in the country that has been in China for a while now. Consumers have been long waiting for the laptops they are affordable and offer great value for the money.

These include Mi Notebook Pro 15, Mi Notebook Air, and Mi Gaming Laptop. The company also recently expanded its RedmiBook lineup in the Chinese market by launching the AMD Ryzen 4000 Series-powered RedmiBook 13, RedmiBook 14, and RedmiBook 16 models.

However, Xiaomi has launched limited laptops in the international market. Back in 2018, the company launched Mi Air Laptop in Spain. It features a 13.3-inch HD (720×1,280 pixels) display with thin bezels and Gorilla glass protection.

The laptop is powered by the 8th generation Intel Core i5-8250U processor, paired with 8GB DRR4 RAM and 256GB SSD storage. The laptop weighs 1.3kg and it is said to last 9.5 hours on a single charge.
