Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 just announced. Qualcomm claims that the processor will provide some of the high end features to the mid range devices. This new chips brings support for triple cameras at the rear.
Quite recently, Qualcomm also introduced its new Snapdragon 700 tier which has been designed to be a branding that does better justice to Sub-premium’ phones than 600-series.
The Snapdragon 710, the state of the current market, both of these chipsets will eventually be competing in the near same budget
Snapdragon 675 processor uses Kryo 460 architecture which is built on ARM’s Cortex-A76 cores, which are designed exclusively for flagship devices and haven’t it made their own way into Qualcomm yet. The first major SoC with Cortex-A76 is Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 980.
Qualcomm has introduce a very new chip with advanced architecture as a mid-range processor by reducing individual’s cores speed. The new architecture is used only on 2 performance cores out of 8.
Snapdragon 710 on other hand uses mid-range Kryo architecture which is based on Cortex A75 and A55. Which is best in class. Best for mid-range.
Snapdragon 670 has only 2 performance cores clocked at 2.0GHz with 6 power efficient cores clocked at 1.8GHz.
Snapdragon 710 has only 2 performance cores clocked at 2.2GHz with 6 power efficient cores clocked at 1.7GHz.
The all new Snapdragon 675 is still sitting on 11nm. The 625 has been designed for feature filled smartphones or concept phones coming next year.
The new image signal processor comes with this chip has been built with triple camera at the rear support setup.
For gamers, the chip now support GPU Turbo and better GPU Optimisation
Both the chipsets comes with built-in support for Qualcomm’s latest quick charge 4+ support and fast AI engine.
Qualcomm expected Snapdragon 675 to make triple camera consumers and Snapdragon 710 form AI feature smartphones.
We will be seeing these chip-sets very soon, like quarter of 2K19. So don’t be surprised if it seems like everyone’s new devices in 2K19 has 3 camera or filled with all AI features.
